Moved with Compassion

Dictionary.com defines compassion as "a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering."

As Jesus walked this earth, He revealed great compassion for both the individuals and the crowds of people around Him. At the very core of that compassion was His love for all people. Every person—those He taught, touched, healed, fed, delivered and set free—experienced the love of the kingdom.

Those in the Kingdom today will be moved with compassion as they follow Christ; they will reveal the love of the Kingdom to those in need. Citizens of the Kingdom will see through the eyes of Jesus the needs of people all around them and will not only feel sorry for them, but they will utilize the resources God has enabled them with—time, talent, treasure—to meet the need. 

Citizens of the Kingdom will do more than attend church, sing in the choir, teach Sunday school, or be an armchair theologian possessing very little or no practical ministry experience; they will get their hands dirty in point-of-need ministry and teach others to do the same.
