The One Reason Why You Made It Through the Night, by Gregory A. Johnson

Life is full of difficulties and it can be very challenging at times. Stress, panic, and fear threaten to destroy minds and bodies as people struggle to make it from day to day. Please know today that the Lord knows your struggles and he is not far away.

The Lord sees all your life difficulties and he knows your every crisis. He not only knows, but he also cares. He does not want you to panic or get ahead of him. He simply desires that you pray and wait on him. You can rest assured that his help is coming because he loves you deeply.

King David was a man after God’s heart, but he faced many difficulties in life. Some were the result of his own sin. Some were the result of the sin of others. Regardless, God did not forsake him.

When we are in seasons of crises, it will do us good to read the book of Psalms in the Bible. David authored many of the Psalms. As we read them, we will be reminded that God will never forsake us. He will bring us through.

At one point, family problems drove King David out of the palace and into the wilderness of despair, fleeing for his life, as his own son sought to do him harm. David’s faith in God did not waver. He prayed and trusted the Lord. During this time, he wrote, “I lie down and sleep; I awake again, for the Lord sustains me” (Psalm 3:5).

Friend, your hope rests on it getting better for you. The good news is that the Lord is here with you now, loving you, caring for you, healing you, making a way for you, and saving you. He has sent the Holy Spirit to comfort you and care for you.

Beloved, there is one reason you made it through the night — the Lord sustains you. It is going to get better for you. Keep praying and trusting the Lord. He is making a way for you. In the midst of your current difficulty, know that your future is bright.

Know that you are loved,
